Events During the Victorian Era
The Victorian Era included various activities, such as the Second Industrial Revolution, the Women's suffrage movement, and the Republican political domination.
Tours begin in the Visitor's Center, located in the Carriage House behind the Reitz Home. Tours are approximately one hour in length. Visitors will go through 12 rooms on two floors of the museum.
Reservations are appreciated for groups of 10 or more people. Please call (812) 426-1871 or contact us to schedule your tour. If you need to reschedule or make changes to your tour, please contact us at least one week in advance.

The Reitz home is open to the public:
Tuesday through Saturday - 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Sundays - 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The last tour of the day begins at 2:30 p.m.
We are closed on Mondays.
Admission Costs
Adults: $7.50
Students: $2.50
Children 12 and under: $1.50
Adult groups of 25 or more: $5.50 per person ($7.50 if under 25)
High school and university groups: $2.00 per person
Elementary and middle school groups: $1.00 per person

Student groups: Please view the Reitz video if it is available at your media center.
Day of Your Visit
Upon arrival, we ask that a teacher, chaperone, or group leader come to the Carriage House to make payment and notify staff of the group's arrival.
Students should remain on their bus or, weather permitting, line up on the sidewalk in front of the Reitz Home Museum on First Street.
After payment has been made and the staff has been notified, the group will be asked to enter the Reitz Home through the First Street entrance.
Please put payment in an envelope and label the outside with the school name, the total amount enclosed, the number of students, and the number of adults.
